The castle was built by Kesari Singh in 1750 AD. He was the fifth son of Sardhul Singh. The motif of flowers and foliage, minarets, mythological paintings, arrows and shields etc have remained unchanged through these many years. The architectural beauty of the fort is actually an embodiment of the cultural amalgamation of the Rajputana and Mughal schools of art and architecture. The first ray of the sun falling over the fort makes for a mystical moment.

Goenka Havelis

The Tuganram Goenka Haveli is one of the prime attractions of Dundlod. Usually locked for outsiders, the fine mirror work of the haveli can be seen above the windows on the upper walls of the courtyard.

The Diwan Khana

It houses the family portraits of the Thakurs, reminding one of the history of Dundlod. Furnished with Louis XIV furniture, the Diwan Khana is built in the Mughal architectural style. A huge library in the premises has a rich collection of books on Indian history. The Duchatta, above the library, was the place from where the ladies watched court ceremonies in purdah.

Mukundgarh

A shopper's favorite. Handicrafts, brass items and textiles are the most sought-after products here. The town is built around a temple square.

FAIRS IN DUNDLOD

A horse show is organized in Dundlod during the Gangaur festival in March. People interested in horses make sure to be present here during this time of the year.

EXCURSIONS
