Sawai Jai SinghJaipur also referred as the Pink City was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727. He was a Rajput ruler who ruled the city from 1699 to 1744. It is the first planed city of India and has rich cultural and historical values that make it more splendid. Its grandeur architecture, rich culture, vibrant and colorful life had never failed to allure the travelers from far off places. Located at a distance of 258 km from Delhi, the city of Jaipur is surrounded by the districts of Alwar, Sikar, Nagaur and Dausa. Most of the state is covered with desert but the city of Jaipur is protected from the rough desert by the Aravali hills. The climate of Jaipur is hot and humid in summers while it is chilly in winters. The summer season is between the months of April to July with the maximum temperature reaches up to 45ºC. While in the winters the temperature drips considerably with the fog envelops the city during the evening. The best time to visit Jaipur is during October to mid March.
