According to a popular local legend the Nahargarh Fort
was named after a Rathore prince, Nahar Singh, whose
soul would haunt the construction site and would not
allow the building process to proceed until prayers
were conducted and the constructors promised to name
the fort after him. This story in all likely hood is
just a local tale without any base but it adds to the
romantic charm of the fort nevertheless.

Fort is definitely worth visiting with its maze of interconnected
hallways and rooms. The rooms located in this part of
the Fort are adorned with the most colorful and graphic
frescoes that are sure to enchant you. These apartments
were constructed for the queens and were equipped with

a long time and the fort was inaccessible to commoners.
