Marwar festival has a special significance as it celebrates Rajasthan's rich folk music and lauds the great warrior Rajputs who fought and adored with equal fervor, devotion and honesty. Listen to bards sing praises of local Rajput warriors who died for their pride and honor, watch kalbeliya dancers swirling their black skirts glittering with mirrors, beads and sequins in tune to mesmerizing desert music and gorge on local delicacies served at temporary stalls that spring up all over Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.

The Marwar festival celebrations are held in parts at different venues. The Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhawan Palace grounds serve as perfect venues for folk performances and cultural extravaganzas.
