KOTA - INTRODUCTION
Kota district of Rajasthan is located in the southeastern region of Rajasthan. The district is bounded by Bundi District to the north, Bara district to the east, Jhalawar district to the south, and Chittorgarh district to the west. The administrative headquarters of the district is the city of Kota. Kota is one of the famous industrial sites of Rajasthan, which is situated on the banks of Chambal River. The largest fertilizer plant of India is in Kota. Kota is a picturesque location in Rajasthan. The temperature of the place varies from 42.2˚ C to 27.3˚ C during the summer season. In the winter season the temperature varies from 27.5˚ C to 9.5˚ C. Kota city is located in the southern region of Rajasthan. It is 242 km from Jaipur and 250 km from Udaipur.

KOTA - HISTORY AND LEGENDS
The history of the historical place, Kota has been very old. In the 12th century the Hada chief, Rao Deva founded Bundi and Hadoti. In the 12th century, both Bundi and Kota came under the rule of Chauhans. The great Mugal Emperor, Jahangir partitioned Bundi and made Kota an independent state in 1624. Later, in the early 17th century he made Madho Singh, the ruler of Kota. Madho Singh is the son of Rao Ratan. Thus, kota became an independent state. One can find the Rajput valor, culture and traditions of ancient India in Kota.

The nearest airport to Kota is Jaipur. The airport is 240 km from Kota.

The Kota railway station is situated at the extreme northern end of the town. The Western Railways connects the place to the other major cities of India.
