Mahansar - INTRODUCTION
Mahansar is a quaint little town located in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. It was established in the year 1768 and is around 40 km away from Jhunjhunu. The Sone Chand ki Dukan that dates backs to 1846 is one of Mahansar's most important attractions. It is the very place where one can find gold leaves intricately woven into the paintings that adorn the walls. Three vaulted ceilings adorn the haveli thus giving it a very unique look. Scenes from Ramayana and the life of Krishna adorn the ceilings. Meanwhile, visitors can also have a look at the intricate paintings depicting the various incarnations of Vishnu.
