Sikar - INTRODUCTION
Sikar was established in the 17th century and had the distinction of being the richest feudal state under Jaipur. It was designed on the same lines as Jaipur, complete with lofty buildings, exquisite havelis, temples and a grand fort. Today, Sikar is one of the must visit places for anyone touring the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. The colorful market, the clock tower and a number of painted havelis add up as the most important attractions of Sikar.
The Sagarmal Sodhani Haveli, Madho Niwas-Kothi, the Jubilee Hall and the Fort are must visit sites for any tourist exploring Sikar. Meanwhile, the temples of Gopinath, Raghunath and Madan Mohan house beautiful frescoes. The Jeen Mata Temple and Harsh Nath Temple also attract many tourists and pilgrims.

Khatu Shyamji Fair
This annual fair is held from Phalgun Sudi Dashmi to Dwadashi and attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Khatu Shyamji
Built in white marble, the Shri Shyamji Temple is one of the main attractions of Sikar.
Lachhmangarh
One of the most impressive forts in the Shekhawati region, the fort offers breathtaking views of the city and its surroundings.
Rambagh
Rambagh boasts of many attractions like the Shani Temple with its exquisitely painted frescoes. The Ganga Temple and a number of elaborately painted havelis are some of the other attractions of Rambagh.
Sakambhari
Besides being a perfect picnic spot, Sakambhari is also known for its 7th century temple dedicated to Sankari Mata.

Harsh Nath Temple
Situated 11 kms away from Sikar, this 10th century temple situated on the Harsh Nath hills is certainly worth a visit.
Jeen Mata Temple
This temple is supposed to have been built around a thousand years ago. It is around 29 kms away from Sikar and is the venue for a colorful fair held twice a year.
