SIROHI - INTRODUCTION
Sirohi is a small district of Rajasthan. The district
has an area of 5236 sq. km. The Sirohi district is
bordered by the Jalor district to the west, Pali district
to the north, Udiapur district to the east and the
Banas Khatha district of Gujrat to the south. This
district is broken up by the hills and rocky ranges.
The Sirohi city is the district headquarters of the
Sirohi district. The only hill station of the state
is situated in Sirohi district. Also there are many
religious places where many tourists used to come in
their Rajasthan tour.

SIROHI– CLIMATE AND LOCATION
Location
The Sirohi district is located
in the south-western part of Rajasthan. This city is
the administrative headquarter of the Sirohi district.
The only hill station of the state, Mount Abu is situated
in Sirohi district. There are many excellent Rajasthan
hotels in Sirohi for the tourists.
Climate
The climate of Sirohi is
moderate. But during the summer season the temperature
of the place goes upto 42˚ C. The winter remains
very cold in this region. The best time to visit is
the place is from the months of autumn to the end of
the winter season.
SIROHI - HISTORY
AND LEGENDS Sirohi was founded by the Deoras. The founder of the
Deoras dynasty was Deoraj. Rao Sobhaji, the 6th descendent
of Rao Deoraj, founded the town of Shivpuri in 1405.
Latter in the year 1425, his son Sehastramal founded
a fortress, which became the capital and turned into
present day town of Sirohi.
During the 19th century, many wars were fought between
the hill tribes of the area. In 1817, the protection
of the British was sought and finally in1823 a treaty
was concluded with the British government. Sirohi became
a part of Rajputana Agency and a self governing princely
state within the British India.

By Air
The nearest airport to Sirohi is at Udaipur. It is
only 110 kms from Sirohi. The private buses and taxis
ensure best service from Sirohi to the airport.
By Train
There are nine railway stations in Sirohi district.
The Western Railways of India connects the place.
By Bus
The road transportation of the place is very fine which
connect the place to the other major cities of Rajasthan
during Rajasthan travel.
