ki Bari is an exotic marble garden that was built for
the ladies of the Mewar royal family to relax and picnic.
Also known as the 'garden of maids', Saheliyon ki Bari
was specially built for 48 maids who were a part of
the wedding dowry of the Maharani of Mewar.
The four corners of the main water reservoir at Saheliyon
ki Bari, Udaipur is flanked by four artistic black marble
royal cenotaphs ornamented with sculpted birds on their
roofs.
Maharana Bhopal Singhji built a spectacular pavilion
of 'rain fountains' within the Saheliyon ki Bari in
the later years. The idea was to produce an enthralling
illusion of rain dancing in musical rhythm with dancing
maids.
