Temples at Baran

Baran, a small town of Kota city is located into the Hadoti region of Rajasthan, known for its ancient temples. Most of the temples are the constructions of 12th century, the optimum attraction of Baran. Sitabari, sited about 45 kms from Baran is the abode of Sita Mata after being left out by Bhagwan Ram. The temple is regarded as the holy place of worship in Rajasthan. Kakoni temples are also the prominent shrine of Baran structured in 8th century, basically consisting of the remains of Vaishnav, Shiv and Jain temples.

To talk about the temples at Baran is mainly to describe the Ramgarh- Bhand Devra temple, 40 kms from Baran. The Shiv Mandir of Ramgarh is the finest example of architectural style that resembled that of Khajuraho.Sas Bahu TempleThus the temple is well known as the mini Khajuraho of Rajasthan. On the top of the Ramgarh hill there lays Kisnai and Annapurna Devi temple. The charming feature of the temple is its 750 stairs to reach the hill top.
