The temple was constructed in 14th century, regarded as a popular pilgrimage center of Hindus. Known for its natural beauty the Brahma temple holds a special place in the hearts of worldwide devotees.According to a popular belief Lord Brahma along with all the gods and goddesses performed a Yagya in this spot. The image of Brahma was in Palthi (seated) position gives another significance to the temple. According to legend, a lotus fell from the hands of Lord Brahma and dropped into this valley as a result of which the ancient lake Sarovar had appeared.

Brahma temple was decorated with marble with silver turtle on the floor, an image of Hans, and the vehicle of Saraswati, on the top of the main doorway are there to distinguish it from several other temples in Pushkar. To memorialize the births and deaths of devotees’ loved ones they usually stud coins in the floor of the temple premise.
