Ajmer - Kishangarh Fort

Tour the spectacular Kishangarh Fort on your tours to the Ajmer tourist attractions. Surrounded by formidable battlements and a deep moated wall, the Kishangarh Fort remained unconquerable despite repeated enemy attacks.

Built in 1653 by Maharaja Roop Singh, a Rathore king, The Kishangarh Fort has lavishly carved interiors that reflect volumes about the luxurious lifestyle of the Rathore rulers. The sleepy Kishangarh of today was a bustling city under the rule of the mighty Rathores in the medieval ages.

Though the Kishangarh Fort was built in the year 1657, the city itself was established by Maharaja Kishan Singhji in the year 1597. Kishan Singhji was the brother of the Maharaja of Jodhpur.

The Kishangarh Fort has played a significant role in the cultural and political history of Ajmer and of Rajasthan. It was from here that the Bani Thani style of painting originated and gained fame in the field of miniature paintings under the tag of Kishangarh School of Painting.

The major attraction within the Kishangarh Fort is the lovely Phool Mahal. Marvel at the stunning murals and delicate frescoes that adorn the walls of the massive Kishangarh Fort and see glorious Rajasthan as you experience its rich cultural heritage.

Climb steep staircases that lead to lavish regal quarters and relax in massive courtyards adorned with stone-carved water fountains and other enchanting ornamentation.

So come and discover the royal secrets of the imposing Kishangarh Fort with Rajasthan Holiday.
